Hello!
My name is Milly, and I am thrilled to be the owner of Penina's Rise N' Shine Childcare at Wayne Ct, Middletown NY, 10941. (The name “Penina” is derived from my beloved grandma who loved babies and watched countless babies as young as from birth to high school for several reasons. Some were simply because their mothers were going through a lot and could not take care of them. And some were because these mothers were losing their babies few weeks after birth, so my grandma would take them and nature them till about few months and return them back to their mothers when they are healthy and stable. And some were just orphans and had nowhere to go. So she inspired me, and the love for babies and nurturing grew deeper and deeper in my blood as early as I can’t remember.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in business from Stony Brook University. I have also completed additional certifications in CPR and First Aid plus numerus hours of certificates in childcare trainings year after year. These credentials combined with my hands-on experience, allow me to provide the highest standard of care for your little ones. Also, my staff at Penina's Rise N' Shine Childcare are highly trained and experienced in childcare. And they are passionate about working with children. They also undergo regular state training to keep up to date with the latest teaching methods and practices. Together we are deeply committed to providing the best possible care and pre-education for your child.
Over the years, I have had the privilege of babysitting for different families while I was in high school and during my college years as well. That's where my skills in creating engaging curriculum, fostering a safe environment, and building strong relationships with both children and parents started. Thereafter, I was blessed with my three beautiful children that we are raising wonderfully. I became a foster mom for few years simply to put a smile on those children’s faces. I am also sponsoring and educating few orphans back at home in Africa Kenya. And I regularly involve with children at my church, and I’ve served as an assistant director counselor for the children ministry in my church.
With over 15 years of experience in the childcare field, I am dedicated and passionate on providing a nurturing and educational environment childcare service for your precious ones. I am truly enthusiastic about working with children and I believe that every child deserves a nurturing and stimulating environment to grow and thrive. I am dedicated to creating a warm and welcoming space where children feel loved, respected, and encouraged to explore their unique interests and talents.
During my spare time, you can often find me reading the latest research on early childhood development or attending workshops and conferences to expand my knowledge. I am committed to providing the best possible care for your children and continuously improving the services we offer at Penina's Rise N' Shine Childcare.
Best Regards, Milly

Our daycare maintains a low staff-to-child ratio to ensure individualized attention and care. We maintain a ratio of 1:4 for infants, 1:6 for toddlers, and 1:8 for preschoolers.
We follow a play-based learning approach that focuses on fostering social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development in children.
The activities provided will expose children to a variety of cultures. We encourage the children to use and develop language and literacy skills, use large and small muscles, think creatively, learn new ideas and skills, and participate in imaginative play.
Yes, we provide (nutritious USDA meal): Breakfast, lunch, and morning snacks/afternoon snacks for all children attending our daycare. Did you know we buy mostly organic food from infants and up? That's how much we care!
Yes, our daycare is fully licensed by the state 790052 and we are proud to be accredited by National CACFP Association.

If a child exhibits a fever while at daycare of more than 100°, we ask that they be picked up and can return back to daycare after fever free without medication for 48 hours.
Yes, we offer both part-time and full-time enrollment options to accommodate the needs of our families. Though part-timers may be bumped out should we have an enrollment for a full-time.

If the listening skills and positive reinforcement doesn't work. The daycare team and the parents we'll come to agreement on the best solution for the child. Sometimes the child just needs to hear how much he/she is loved a million time a day!
It takes a village to raise a child. That’s why we must work very closely with parents to support and facilitate the potty-training process. We follow individualized plans based on each child's readiness and progress. And we encourage the parents to follow it as well. Tip, setting an alarm based on each child's plan works wonders for potty-training process. It's very important to know the frequency of bathroom use for a child during potty-training. By knowing, you'll be able to set up an alarm on when to take the child than doing guess work and when you come back pull up is wet. TRY IT!!!
We maintain regular communication with parents through daily reports/verbal communication during pick up/drop off. We also connect with our parents via phone call, text, and email to keep them updated on their child's activities, milestones, and progress.
The safety and security of our children is our utmost priority. We have strict safety protocols, including controlled access in our property, we have surveillance cameras outside, and trained staff in first aid and emergency procedures. We also conduct fire drills every month and teach them what to do at home as well.
Yes, we do have a waiting list for enrollment. Though you may be notified if someone comes and decides if you want to switch for full time or we’ll give you enough notice to figure things out. But we recommend contacting our office to inquire about availability and to be placed on the waiting list.
Yes, we require certain documents such as immunization, medical records, emergency contact information (any relevant custody or court orders, if applicable). Napping agreement, infant feeding, transporting, and a signature after going over our handbook.
Absolutely! We encourage parents to visit our daycare facility to get a feel for the environment, meet our staff, and ask any questions they may have. And more importantly, if they can bring the child to meet and greet, it would decrease anxiety separation on their 1st day at the daycare.
We would love to hear from you and answer any questions you may have about our programs and services. Contact us today to schedule a tour or to learn more about how we can support your
